Vintage 1950's American Character 20" Peepers Rare Christening Dress & TLC Slip

Description: Description While I'm not totally positive, I believe this christening dress and slip belong to an American Character Peepers doll from the 1950's. A Peepers doll was at the same estate sale I purchased the dress and slip, but unfortunately I was unable to acquire the doll.The dress is very similar to the one shown in a black & white photo (bottom left) on page 60 of the book, "American Character Dolls Identification & Value Guide" by Judith Izen. I believe the dress is for a 20" or possibly 21" doll, though please look at the measurements below to help determine whether it will fit your particular doll. MEASUREMENTS: The dress measures approx. 15 1/2" from shoulder to bottom hem and approx. 7 1/4" from underarm to underarm. CONDITION: While the dress is not perfect and not for the picky collector buyer, I think it will still display nicely (slip will not without major repairing/cleaning). DRESS : there are a small number of tiny to small holes in the material of the dress here and there. The lace at the neckline has a small repaired section. Vertical seam in back has some loose stitches on the bottom of the seam. Some degree of relatively light soil is present.
