Description: ***********The manual wind movement runs about 2 minutes fast by the end of its approximate 41 hour power reserve period. Given that the movement runs a bit fast and considering its unknown service history a complete overhaul is likely long overdue and recommended.***********This seldom seen vintage 1970's Le Forban diver has a glossy black dial that is in lovely but not perfect condition as it shows wear. The lume on the dial and hands, which emits a faint glow on only the hands after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully. The faded black bezel, which shows wear and rotates stiffly bidirectionally, presents nicely with the inverted lume pip complementing the dial and patina beautifully. The all stainless steel case shows honest wear with minor signs of oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is stamped "A 15 ATMOSPHERES 100% ETANCHE" with "LE FORBAN" followed by "SECURITE MER" and "64224" stamped in the center. The crystal should be replaced as it shows significant scratching and dust/debris on its underbelly. While I normally show pictures of the movements of watches I put up for sale I don't feel comfortable removing the case back on this watch. The manual wind movement, which does not have a quickset date function, runs strong, albeit a bit fast, and the date wheel rolls over at 12 am. After recently winding the crown 26 full revolutions the movement ran about 2 minutes fast by the end of its approximate 41 hour power reserve period. The non-screwdown crown winds smoothly. Given that the movement runs a bit fast and considering its unknown service history a complete overhaul is likely long overdue and recommended. This watch measures approximately 36 mm excluding the crown, approximately 39.5 mm including the crown and approximately 19.75 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 9 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 11 mm. This watch comes on a period correct, curved lug ends 20 mm genuine and original Tropic strap with signature "ACIER" stamped flared buckle that is fully pliable without any rips/cracks. The long ends measures approximately 115 mm with the short end, excluding the buckle, measuring approximately 70 mm. I'd guestimate that it will not fit a greater than 6.75 inch wrist. Given that the movement runs a bit fast and considering its unknown service history a complete overhaul is likely long overdue and recommended. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility. Please thoroughly read this entire listing and kindly ask any and all questions you may have prior to buying as this sale is final and no refunds of any kind will be given. And please study the 15 high magnification pictures carefully as they are part of the description and serve as an accurate representation of the condition of this watch. Expedited and insured shipping along with signature confirmation will be provided. Thanks for looking!***********The manual wind movement runs about 2 minutes fast by the end of its approximate 41 hour power reserve period.
