Given this and considering the movement's unknown service history a complete overhaul is likely long overdue and recommended.***********This seldom seen vintage 1970's Zodiac Sea Wolf, which came from the estate of the original owner, has a lovely aged blue "SWISS T 25" signed dial and the original lume, which remains fully intact and emits a faint, short-lived glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully. The silver bezel, which rotates bidirectionally with an appropriate amount of tension, presents in person as nearly blemish free and the toasted butterscotch inverted triangle lume complements the dial and patina beautifully. The heavy duty all stainless steel case shows light wear with no visibly noticeable signs of oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is stamped "ZODIAC SEAWOLF WATER - TESTED 20 ATM - ESPECIALLY" with "722 906" followed by "2875046" stamped in the center. The inside of the case back is stamped "Zodiac Ltd" followed by "Acier Inox." The crystal shows minor scratching. The 17 jewels unadjusted Swiss "Zodiac LTD." stamped automatic movement with hack and quickset date features keeps accurate time and the date wheel rolls over as it should. The quickset date feature works flawlessly by pressing in on the crown until the desired date has been reached. The hacking feature works by pulling the crown out. When the crown is pushed back in the seconds hand resumes running without issue. After recently winding the original signed crown 39 full revolutions the movement had an approximate 42 hour power reserve period. While the time can be smoothly set the crown winds with a bit of friction. With slow and steady winds there will be no issues as the crown/stem connection is nice and solid. Given that the crown winds with some tightness and considering the movement's unknown service history a complete overhaul is likely long overdue and recommended. This watch measures approximately 39 mm excluding the crown, approximately 42.5 mm including the crown and approximately 19 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 9 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 12 mm. The front to back of the mid-case measurement is approximately 43 mm. A complete overhaul is likely long overdue and recommended.
