It runs strong, keeps time to within specs (+-30 seconds per day) and both the day and date wheels roll over as they should.*********** This seldom seen vintage 1985 Bulova Caravelle Deep Sea Diver has a lovely black "W. GERMANY 41C10W" signed dial and the original lume, which remains fully intact and emits a quick burst glow after being exposed to bright light, has a subtle pistachio hue. Majority of the imperfections seen are on the crystal, not the dial. In person these imperfections are nearly visually imperceptible. The faded fat font bezel, which shows wear and ratchets counterclockwise, presents nicely. The all stainless steel case shows honest wear with minor signs of oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is stamped "BULOVA WATCH CO. P5 STAINLESS STEEL CASE WATER RESISTANT." The inside of the case back is stamped "C871034" followed by "HONG KONG" and "BULOVA." The crystal presents as nearly blemish free in person. The 7 jewels unadjusted "BULOVA WATCH CO" stamped hacking quartz movement with quickset day and date functions runs strong, keeps accurate time to within specs (+-30 seconds per day) and both the day and date wheels roll over as they should. The movement was given a complete overhaul in late 2022. Although no paperwork will be provided my watchmaker's service marking is etched on the inside of the case back. The quickset date function works flawlessly by pulling out the crown to the first position and turning it clockwise. The quickset day function works in the precisely the same manner with the exception of the crown being turned counterclockwise. All days of the week are in black with the exception of Sunday which is in red. The day wheel is in both English and Spanish. The screwdown crown unscrews and screws back down as it should. This watch measures approximately 37 mm excluding the crown, approximately 40 mm including the crown and approximately 18 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 8 mm. The crystal adds no measurable thickness. This watch comes on what I believe to be its original stainless steel "HONG KONG ET" stamped bracelet that shows significant stretch. I'd guestimate it may fit up to an approximate 6.75 inch wrist. The buckle/clasp snaps tightly shut. Although the movement is currently running strong and keeping accurate time there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time.
