Description: This vintage 1949/50 clarinet has been restored to excellent playing condition. Has new pads and new corks. The Wood was/is in excellent condition. NO cracks or repairs of such. The last two pictures show what I think is a "mark" on the end of the wood that was left by so repairman when working to replace the cork. It is not a crack as can be seen with the last picture. A thorough cleaning was all that was needed. The metal is also the same. The only problem was with some of the posts. Sometime before someone had tighten the set screws so much so that they could not be removed to remove the pivot screws. And the head were destroyed so they could not be removed. So I feel that those post should be replaced. Later at some other time all set screws were removed. I did not replace them. Replacement of the pads is still possible. But, in the future for a more original horn it is best to have the post replaced and also add all the set screws for the pivot screws. I do not have a parts 444 on hand so I was not able to replace them at this time. The opening asking price reflects the above stated problems with the posts. I did all the work on it so please email me will your questions. It comes without a mouthpiece. Also, the padding on the thump rest is left up to you. Please study the pictures uploaded well and ask for more if needed. I offer free local pick up and audition before bidding if you live around the San Antonio area. I will accept a return of 2 weeks. eBay sets a 30 day period which I feel is too long for what I feel is a delicate instrument that may have a heavy and rough use. Will mail out in an old Bundy case. It is a strong fiber case. the original I am sure was long gone many years ago.
