The vase features a number of men performing outside under a fir tree: a man playing a flute while another man works a puppet with a rod; one man is dancing while yet another man looks on. There are mountains in the background.The maker's mark is beneath the vase bowl. The color is reddish-brown orange. The mouth of the vase is 3.75” in diameter, from lip to lip.Macau comprises a small, narrow peninsula projecting from the mainland province of Guangdong. The name Macau is derived from the Chinese Ama-gao or 'Bay of Ama', the patron goddess of sailors.Much of Macau's imports consist of raw materials or semi-finished goods for manufacturing purposes. One of these goods were whole or partially undecorated porcelain blanks onto which local companies added enamel decorations. It is likely that the blanks were made in China
