Description: Please Note: Because of the insured value, this package will require a signature on delivery. Do not purchase it if you are not going to be able to sign for it or have someone sign on your behalf. The saw will very wellpackaged and fully insured. This listing is for a restored early model Homelite XL-12 (54.2 cc). This saw is over 50 years old and like most of them this age, it was due for a restoration. I disassembled the entire saw. The cylinder and piston were in very good condition with no scoring, so I removed all the carbon from the cylinder head, exhaust port, piston dome and ring grooves. I cleaned the crankcase, crankshaft, connecting rod and bearings. I stripped all the covers to bare magnesium and disassembled and cleaned the gas tank removing all the old sealer and then resealed it. All the covers were sanded to remove most of the casting flaws, primed, painted in base colors, decals applied and clear-coated. I reassembled the engine with new crankcase seals, new gaskets, new carburetor kit, new fuel line, new fuel filter, new check valve in the gas cap, new points set, new condenser, new o-rings on the manual oiler plunger, a new recoil rope, a new spark plug, Included is it original 16" hard nose bar and chain. The chain has about 90% of life left. Everything has been done to this saw to give you years of trouble free service or you can display it in your man cave. It fires right up with good compression, idles smoothly and runs out very strong. The manual chain oiler works great. You will not be disappointed. Keep in mind that the XL-12's only have a manual chain oiler - no automatic oiler. A copy of the owner's manual will be included with the saw. Please Note: These vintage saws require slight carburetor adjustments from time to time. If you are not familiar with adjusting one of these, please do not buy it. An improper adjustment can damage the engine. This will ship with FedEx and will require a signature. In the past I had a couple of saws that sold on eBay that were delivered to the correct address, but the buyers claimed that they never received them and I had to take the loss.
