Description: I got snookered when I purchased this tool chest. The seller cleverly didn't take very good pictures of the tools and their defects. It took me forever to restore them. The original plane was very chopped up and missing the chip breaker. It was unusable. I have substituted another vintage plane that has been totally restored and sharpened to 6000 grit. The chip breaker was reground to the traditional 60/20 angles. It is set up as a scrub plane. You of course can change that if you desire. The blade and chip breaker were corrected and coated with traditional Japanese camellia oil to prevent rust. The dai/body was trued and the sole was returned to the traditional wave pattern.The chisels were very, very, very rusted. I removed as much of the heavy pitting as I could and keep the integrity of the tool. They were also corrected, sharpened to 6000 grit, I waxed twice. The knife was lapped and sharpened. I made the chisel keepers to prevent them from getting nicked up. I spent a lot of time sharpening them and I wanted them to stay that way. The chest is still in very good shape. The tools alone are worth more than I am asking.
