Description: Jeannette Glass Company (1887-1983) Pink Glass Donkey Pulling Cart from the 1930s. Beautiful medium pink color with wonderful detail in excellent collectible condition. No chips, cracks or scratches. It has some air bubbles, straw marks and one tiny piece of ash embedded in the glass inside the cart. Great piece to display or hold candy / nuts, trinkets, or jewelry. Measures 6 3/8" L x 2 5/8" W x 2 3/4" T. Weight 13 oz. Jeannette Glass Company was est'd in 1887, in Jeannette, Pennsylvania under the name Jeannette Bottle Works Company. In 1898 the company was succeeded by the Jeannette Glass Company. The company was really innovative and was one of the forerunners in producing the machine made, colored pressed glassware. Many of the most desirable Depression Glass kitchen items were made by The Jeannette Glass Company. In 1961 Jeannette bought the old McKee plant which was located in Jeannette, PA and continued to produce glassware until 1983 when the company closed down.
