Description: Joe Cordova was a premier knife maker who sold his first knife 70 years ago in 1953. He worked in Albuquerque and Bosque Farms New Mexico. His son Joey is now making custom knives. Joe’s work is extremely collectible and has become quite hard to come by. This is the only set of serving utensils I have ever come across.Joe often made one of a kind designs. He once served as Chairman of the American Bladesmith Society. This is a custom two piece carving set. The set comes in an oak stained wooden box. The box is 18”x6”x2 3/4”. It has brass hinges and a brass snap lock. The box is lined with red felt like material. The box top has a brass plate bearing Joe’s maker’s mark of “ Cordova made”. The two prong fork is made of forge twisted high carbon steel. The two tines are polished and are about 3 1/2” in length. OAL of the fork is 16”. It is signed J Cordova. The knife is also made of forged high carbon steel which has we twisted and folded to form a comfortable to hold handle. The blade is convex ground. OAL of the knife is 14 1/2”. The blade length is 8”. It is signed J Cordova. There area few carbon spots on the fork and knife as these are high carbon pieces.
