Description: In 1946 Lipper International was founded as Lipper & Mann and became an importer of fine glass and ceramics imported from Czechoslovakia and other European countries. Their showroom was on the seventh floor at 225 Fifth Avenue, New York. Mr. Lipper, Mr. Mann, and several sales representatives sold merchandise to leading department stores, independent shops, jewelry stores and home furnishing stores. Merchandise was shipped from overseas factories to the Lipper warehouse at East 29th Street, New York. In 1949 Lipper & Mann began importing porcelain and earthenware items from Japan including figurines, teacups and saucers, tea kettles, dinnerware sets, and other tableware serving items with huge success. Up for sale is a cute set of vintage Lipper & Mann wall pockets that can also sit as table figurines. They feature children - a boy playing a guitar in one and a boy playing an accordion in the other - while girls dance and enjoy the music on both. They are both marked on the bottom Lipper & Mann Creations Japan and date to the 1950’s. They measure 5 ½ inches tall, 4 inches long and 2 ½ inches deep with holes for a wire to hang them on the wall. They are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or breaks, but they do have some crackling, which is expected with this type of piece and age. These have been on a shelf in our guest room for over 30 years and have always been together, so the colors are a perfect match to each other which is rare. Make me an offer! Thanks for your interest.
