Description: For sale is a vintage hand-made, white-faced Punu Maiden Spirit Mask (Mukudji) from Gabon. It is made of wood and painted white. Dimensions are 12.5 inches tall x 8.5 inches wide. It is also substantial in weight. Its overall condition is good, though it does show some small chips to the carved wood and some "facial" paint loss. There are also several hairline cracks as shown in the photos. Small splits, scrapes and cracks are a normal part of such vintage masks and attest to their age and extensive use in tribal ceremonies. Please look carefully at the pictures which show its condition, especially as it affects any flaws or imperfections. Note: the blue color seen in the eye sockets and mouth in several photos is a camera flash reflection. The only color on the mask is white. Feel free to ask any questions beforehand.
