Description: What this particular quilt is is a very vintage hand and machine sewn applique quilt top that was stored away until someone decided to put it together. I took this to a respected quilt shop to confirm my suspicions and they agreed that the top is vintage and the batting and backing are more current. Whoever was planning to quilt this put it together, but again, in agreement with the shop, they did not allow enough material to make the scalloped edges of the quilt. Basically it is all from flour sack type materials, also possible bolt fabric. This is a gem! It measures 82" x 94" in its present state. An experienced quilter could complete this but one could also leave it in the current condition and display folded. The 'plates' are hand appliqued onto the backing but I believe the plates were machine sewn. The hand work is so fine! Being sold as pictured. Thank you for your interest.
