Description: This vintage Ruxton Railroader pocket watch carries serial number 5110392 and is believed to have originally been purchased in the late-1950s. These 17 jewel Ruxton watches are extremely rare, and this one is in remarkable cosmetic condition, with very little signs of wear. A true 50s-era survivor. The crystal lens is clear, the metal surfaces are not tarnished, and there is a very nice 12" gold link chain included. The watch will also wind-up and run. A recent experiment I performed showed that the watch will run for over 40 hours on a single, complete wind-up, and it kept accurate time in the process. I’m not a clock or watch expert, but I suspect that this timepiece has never had any routine maintenance performed on it. I would think that it could probably use a good internal cleaning and oiling by a professional to ensure dependable function for years to come. Free shipping.
