Description: Vintage Turner Wall Accessory Wall Art. The print is on some type of coated paper. The frame is plastic with gold patterned paper on the edges and gold designs on the cranberry colored mat, which is also plastic but feels like wood. Turner Mfg. Co. made copies of fine art for the masses. What makes this wall art particularly interesting is that someone at the company misidentified the artist. The original oil painting was done in the 1600's by one of Rembrandt's students, Gerrit Dou. Its correct name is Old Woman Reading, also known as Old Woman Reading a Lectionary. The detail is wonderful. The age of the woman is shown by the careful depiction of her mouth and chin. The print on the book is readable. Amazing to think that this was originally painted in oil. Made in the 1960's. 16" x 13" x 1 1/4".
