Description: This set is in fairly good condition with a patina you can't replicate. It comes with everything shown, with the exception of the track. I only used that for taking pictures... I found these at an estate sale and they had been in an old garage, so a little crusty and dusty. I brought them home, cleaned and lubed them up, and proceeded to get it running, because I had one very similar as a kid. I did get it running excellent, but after a few minutes, I got going a little too fast, and it fell onto carpet around one corner. Put it back on the track, and nothing. I fiddled around with it, and got it to run a few more times, but then it would stop. I have come to the conclusion that it needs rewired but the brushes are nice, and the windings are intact, as confirmed by an ohmmeter. So, it needs some attention, but when I got her fired up, she is powerful! The headlight works too. I did not reassemble the rod links, in order to easily remove the motor, but they are complete with all screws, and straight! The steam bucket and headlight assembly are intact, in good shape, inside the engine... Now, there are two tenders, one obviously original to the set, and one for parts. I cleaned and lubed them and got both running, and whistling away! However, they both need new wires leading down to the pick ups. The body on the one has light wear, no cracks in posts. The other has a broken corner, and cracked posts, but the chassis is great for swapping parts, or get a better body... The other cars have various wear, a crack in the plastic on the caboose, but all roll well, with working couplers. The box car man swings as intended. There is a little rust here and there, but I like the patina. Oh yeah, the automobile is missing the grill and side posts... Give it some TLC and you'll have a nice, weathered runner. It's from around 1951. Again, track is for display purposes, and not included... Don't be shy, make a fair offer... If you do make an offer on one of my buy it now items, please do so between Monday and Saturday only, if you make it on Sunday, it's unlikely I'll see it in time...
