Description: I'm pleased to offer this vintage Chatty Cathy Doll. This 20-inch doll was made by Mattel, in 1960, and features blonde hair and blue eyes. She has a soft head and a light complexion, with freckles. I don't know if someone was trying to repair her voice box, or what, but she needs to be glued back together (see photos). I think it would be a pretty easy fix, though. She also has some marks. Her original dress has been mended and the bottom snap has pulled through (see last two photos). The first Chatty Cathy doll was the prototype, manufactured in 1959, and had no markings. In 1960, Mattel added the mark “Chatty Cathy Patents Pending MCMLX by Mattel Inc. Hawthorne, Calif.”, which this doll has. I am selling this doll for my friend's elderly mother. I'll try to describe everything, to the best of my ability, but please also look carefully at my photos. My home is non-smoking and I will gladly combine shipping.
