It is part of a limited-edition series Wedgwood made during the 1970's and 1980's of Children's dishes with designs from Beatrix Potter's Peter Rabbit and Friends books. The set includes a plate, bowl (porringer), mug, and egg cup, all featuring charming original graphic images and phrases taken from Beatrix Potter's "Tale of Peter Rabbit" book. The pieces are made from sturdy fine bone china with a vintage look that adds to their decorative appeal. On pure white china, the images are multicolored in muted tones and the phrases are printed in black. The plate measures 6 7/8" in diameter and sits 3/4" high. The bowl (called Porringer on the box) sits 1 3/8" high, is 1" deep and 6 1/2" in diameter with a wide edge lip and flat bottom. It can serve hot or cold food. The little mug has a handle and stands 2 7/8" high, is 4 1/8" from handle to edge and 3" wide. It can hold 6 fl oz. The egg cup can also be used as a juice cup. It is 2" high and 2 1/4" in diameter. All 4 pieces have the Wedgwood of Etruria & Barlaston name printed on the bottom along with "Made in England" Copyright Frederick Warne & Co, Beatrix Potter Designs and "Peter Rabbit". The set is perfect for little hands and can be used for any occasion, including Easter, other special events or even for everyday use. This adorable set is not only functional but also a great decorative addition to any child's room or vintage themed kitchen. The set comes in its original box that has a taped rip on one corner.
