Description: Woodstock 50th Slogan Cancel Bethel NY Site of Original 1969 Show "Then & Now" Click images to enlarge Description Woodstock 50th 4x6 Glossy Postcard Size USPS Slogan Cancel from Bethel NY Bethel was the Town of the Original 1969 Show Loction of Max Yasgur's Farm We are very proud to bring these FDC’s to the market. We (my wife and I have had a long, prosperous and enjoyable memories of our Woodstock experience. We were involved from the planning stages of the festival. We were managing a rehearsal studio, the first of its kind, in SOHO NYC called Baggies Studios, You may have seen a Jimi Hendrix Album called “Baggys” the rehearsal sessions of his “Band of Gypsies” prior to his famous New Year Eve show at the Fillmore East We were contracted to design and construct the concession stands at the sight, Mighter of fact we got a Round the World Pan-Am ticket at a very special price that the lead designer used to travel to India to purchase the Mirror Cloths used to decorate the roofs of the buildings. Their life at the show was very short lived as they somehow disappeared rapidly. I was also a very active member of the stage and later the technical staff at the Fillmore. Bill Graham and John Morris. Of Fillmore fame, were also providing construction and stage crew under the guidance of Chip Monck and his able bodied assistant Steve Cohen. Upon completion of the food stands I was immediately ushered to the stage to start the marathon sessions prior to opening. If we got 10 hours sleep in those 4 or 5 Days it was a lot. I have many memories of the show and my personal experiences. On this 50th Anniversary we who are left are in communication, mainly on Facebook and we will be sharing these mementos with one and all. So a box of over 200 pieces have arrived from the Cancellation services of the USPS in KC MO. They had just returned a box of our Apollo 11 50th covers printed on the same paper. Cancels were clear and crisp. Design The images are printed on glossy photo paper; which then were cut to the size of the #10 Envelope, leaving a border of gold or copper around same. The envelopes had been painted with metallic paints to achieve the effects. The cancelled materials should be here by Aug 22 .
