Description: Bert G. Farie USNRFJune 29th, 1918"Very much regret not having had a chance to write you before...France is very quaint...I am ashore tonight for the first time.I have been working hard all day overhauling my battery as we did some firing yesterday. No not a sub we just tried our luck on a barrel & did creditably indeed...We have comfortable quarters and the food as a whole has been fair...It was exceptionally smooth all the way over...In the English part of this YMCA there is a lunch counter, and I had an egg sandwich and some home brewed tea. The best I can say for the tea it was rotten...Hope we get a crack at a sub soon...If a sub sees us coming they know what kind of reception they are about to receive."This item is guaranteed to be 100% authentic and would pass any third- party verification. If you are not pleased with this item for any reason, it may be returned.I have been collecting historic items and autographs for over 50 years and am in the process of liquidating much of my personal collection and inventory.KEEP CHECKING BACK FOR MORE LISTINGS OF UNIQUE ITEMS AND AUTOGRAPHS.
