These are not normal barnyard chickens. My COPPER MARANS lay the darkest eggs I've ever seen. My local bakery calls every week wanting these beautiful chocolate colored cackle berries. Egg's color fluctuates over the laying season and I do my best to send you the darkest eggs that are available at the time. If some eggs are not as dark as the picture they will still pass on the genetics for dark eggs. This pictures were taken after we selected the best looking and darkest eggs from my hens . My original flock was ordered from Bev Davis line. However over three past 8 years, I have cultivated each flock. Only keeping the darkest eggs & the prettiest birds with the most feathered feet Copper Maran is a very old breed. Unique, Beautiful & Friendly Birds.
