Description: Original vintage U.S. canteen with wool lined cover. This canteen was brought back by my father, a US Navy photographer assigned to the USS Copahee. His duty was to document the aftermath of Guadalcanal. This canteen was left from a KIA Marine he told me, as there were many to be found. October 5th 2024 was his last day on earth barely making a 100th birthday. I say this because I am very proud of him and I hope you will appreciate this artifact. Thank you for looking.
