This listing is for a medal that comes with its ribbon (red background with thin white borders, center blue stripe flanked by two thin white stripes, some spots on ribbon--see photo.) The 5-point bronze star has a center miniature star and the back of the medal has raised circle lettering: Heroic or Meritorious Achievement with blank center for name of recipient (there is no name.) The medal and ribbon measure approx. 3" long and the star is approx. 1-3/8" across. These medals are awarded for members of the U.S. Armed Forces who, while serving in any capacity with the armed forces of the U.S. on or after Dec. 7, 1941, who shall distinguish himself by heroic or meritorious achievement or service. Everything is in very good condition, and when packed SECURELY for shipping the weight is 5 ounces.
