ZEISS #8 illuminated reticle MADE IN GERMANY SERIAL NUMBER : 2220029 Scope has a 30mm tube, Matte black, Scope is 14 & 1/4 inches long,about 24.5 ozs with CENTER CROSS ILLUMINATION. This is a First Focal Plane (FFP ) scope & therefore,the reticle increases OR decreases in size as the magnification does AND so DOES the illuminated center cross). SCOPE - scope lens covers & battery ONLY NO BOX neither PAPERWORK with it EXTREMELY CLEAR OPTICS / VIEW - - MY APOLOGIES with ALL reticle pictures/ photos BUT it is/was the Best I could do.. Regardless whether conditions this scope will be perfect for any : Driven or night Hunting situations,Dusk & Down & anywhere in between.. The glass is amazing (as you would expect from a $3K plus ZEISS optic..). Reticle illumination option provides you a better accuracy at night and in low light situations. With non-illuminated reticles, you could have problems in low light situations, when you can see the target but not the reticle. The type of illumination for low light usage only is mostly meant for raised hide hunting. Daytime bright illumination is the best option for driven hunting, IPSC and tactical shooting. Details : The Zeiss Diavari V 2,5-10x50 T* illuminated scope is made for dusk and dawn hunting and all other situations with low light. The same applies for shots on great distances where 10x magnification helps to show every single detail on target. Zeiss Diavari riflescopes are constructional very similar to Zeiss Victory with properties that are reserved only for the most expensive Zeiss models. The reticle is seated in the first focal plane and is very useful for hunting in poor light conditions. All Zeiss Diavari riflescopes are filled with dry nitrogen to prevent dew accumulation at low temperatures and have the Zeiss T* coating on all lens surfaces to ensure excellent light transmission in the dark and good image sharpness with low chromatic aberration. They are available with or without illumination of the reticle. The robust housing made from one piece ensures perfect alignment of the reticle even on the most powerful rifles.
